This course is designed to equip individuals with the competencies required to practice as medical laboratory technologists with the ability to provide quality medical laboratory services and also to strengthen health care systems making them responsive and efficient in addressing community health needs.
An individual entering this course should have the following minimum requirements:
Kenya Certificate of secondary education (K.C.S.E.) with an overall mean grade of C (Plain) or equivalent, and in addition a minimum grade of C (Plain) in the following cluster subjects: –
Biology/Biological Sciences
Chemistry/Physical Sciences
English or Kiswahili
Mathematics or Physics
Or
Holders of Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences with two (2) years relevant experience, registered and licensed by KMLTTB.
Or
KCSE mean grade of C- (Minus) or KCE division II, KACE one (1) or an equivalent qualification.
Or
Any other international qualifications should get approval from the Kenya National Qualification Authority (KNQA)
Course Duration: 3 academic years
Intakes: May & September
Mode of delivery: on campus (Monday – Friday)
Hospitals as line managers, Hospital as Medical laboratory technicians, Research scientists, progression to Bachelors
